The restaurant had a live band and the food was excellent. Very pleasant stay and great stop between Cape May and Annapolis. If a floating dock is preferred, the marina will accommodate. The available amenities of the docks, which are located outside of a restaurant and bar, are noted on the Snag-A-Slip profile. The marina does offer restrooms, but a bath house is not an available amenity. While Schaefer's Canal House is an awesome marina, they also have an amazing bar and restaurant attached to it that second to none.

And cracking jokes the whole time. We never encountered such a helpful friendly and funny dockside assistance Restaurant was very good along with the staff. And fun watching all the canal traffic. Definitely would come back.

Nice people and the dock hands do a great job. I recommend using this marina when passing thru the C & D Canal. On our way from Cape May to Baltimore.
Happy hour food,

Good food & drink, with easy access. We docked right along-side parallel to the canal. Easy access to water hose and electric hookup. The only draw-back is that there are no showers. Even a cold water outside rinse off shower would have been nice.
There are currently no photos.
Will be using the Marina on my return trip. Free docks on opposite shore were silted in. One is exposed to canal but very little canal traffic.

(Olivia Marro, Leah Stubbs, Scott Seisler) Schaefer's is without question your #1 way point when transiting the C&D Canal. Staff was great - and knowledgeable of local conditions and setting lines for the 3+ foot tide swings. Restaurant next to dock was excellent.
Very friendly and competent Dock Master, Steve, guided us right into fuel dock and then around to out spot on the bulkhead. Despite passing ships, there was very little rocking from wakes. Restaurant was good and steps from the boat. The dock hands were excellent. Got tied up quickly and efficiently in the current.

There aren't any showers, but I didn't find that to be an issue. We had a really good experience here. The staff was super friendly and helpful and really went out of their way for us. The restaurant was great and you are a short dinghy ride to town on the other side of the canal. No showers, laundry or grocery nearby.
Current and pilings made for a rough night. The restaurant was lively and the food was good. As to the accommodations there is a substantial amount of current through the marina and the tidal change is roughly 3’.
My only complaint has nothing to do with the marina. The restaurant has gone downhill. My guess is they have a new chef. It was prime rib ordered medium rare and arrived medium well. Then got chicken parmigiana.
Tied up quickly and securely. Very helpful tie up assistance. Great help from Dockmaster and dockhand. The Army Corp had actually closed the C&D Canal due to fog. I contacted the Dockmaster and he called me when the Canal was open to traffic.
Enjoyed the bike trail and restaurant accommodations. Marina Staff are great but tug and barge traffic very challenging. Sign up to receive news, updates and exclusive offers direct to your inbox. Yes, Schaefer's Canal House has a kids menu, view their kids menu on Sirved.
And many a loud speed boat takes advantage of the good fuel prices here. But the people are friendly and the area peaceful, with the restaurant offering decent food and beverage options. Overall a nice one night stop. Be prepared and time your canal transit and docking based on tides. Check AIS for commercial traffic before departing the dock.
Note that the dock has no cleats to which you can tie, you'll need to throw a clove hitch or something around the pilings. The dock hands are quite good about helping with line handling. Steven the Dock Master was amazing. He's very knowledgeable and even washed the water marks and filled our fenders when we got fuel. Passed out leaflets with all kind of info.
